Unity Engine has recently changed their pricing model so that they now charge per install of each game made with their engine. This causes major problems from video game developers of all sizes, but especially small indie devs. This also especially harms devs if they have games on Game Pass, because now distributers will be forced to eat that cost.

Unity has since listened to the intense outcry and has rolled back or modified some of these changes, but is it enough to restore faith in their engine from the community, or is switching to a new engine like Godot the right move?
