The final assignment was to design an original character, give them a back story, and then make a 8-10 animation of them doing something related to who they are.
I made a female fighter, Selene, from Cairo with Moon-based abilities to compliment my other character, Sol, who has sun based abilities. So I made her float and slash a lot with an oversized Egyptian Khopesh. It was fun doing it, despite HOW LONG IT TAKES TO MAKE AN ANATOMICALLY CORRECT WOMAN MOVE FOR 8 SECONDS. But analyzing how how hips would move, or where the head were turn and the tilt of the torso...Really makes it easier to understand how to animate something when you know the human body. Plus the secondary action of the cloth adds an nice touch.
