Unix has a long history and so does the Unix philosophy so I thought it would be interesting to do an overview of that history and sort of explain how we got to the general idea we have today of write programs that do one thing and do it well. This philosophy holds just as true for early forms of unix as it does for modern distrobutions of BSD and Linux.
