While it's great being able to play this PS2 version of 'Unreal Tournament' (UT99) on the PS3 through backwards compatibility with the dual-analog controller, unfortunately there's a small quibble regarding the sound emulation.

After doing some research, it appears that "at various points throughout the title, extraneous sound effects randomly play"...which is noted in the EverybodyWiki's 'List of PlayStation 2 games compatible with PlayStation 3' section...

Needless to say, this rather undesirable sound glitch can be heard frequently in the background during the footage, but is obviously less noticeable while in-game during frenetic deathmatches. Anyhow, the quirky sound aberration is reminiscent of an almost "popping-thumping" sensation through the speaker / headphones - err, sounding eerily similar to a heartbeat.
