[Unsolved 2017] ATI/AMD 6950 and NVIDIA 670 Flickering and Screen Blackout Issue [p55 chipset?]
Sapphire Raedon HD 6950 2GB w/ Catalyst 11.10, 11.11, and 11.12 drivers... I have intermittent flickering and screen blackout issues when the card decided to change clock speeds/voltage. (Whatever the case)
Not sure if this a hardware defect or a driver issue, but if anyone would like to chime in on the issue, feel free.
UPDATE: Turning off flash hardware acceleration seems to be a temporary fix to the issue...
Right Click a Flash Object/Video, Settings, General, Left Tab, Uncheck.
UPDATE2: Only decreases the amount of this occurring, unfortunately it still happens.
UPDATE3: Disabling hardware acceleration doesn't change the frequency of this occurring at all, must have been a coincidence.
UPDATE4: From the overwhelming amount of people having this problem, I've found out it comes down to the core, memory, or voltage settings down clocking. I've tried making a profile with CCC and set all the settings the same, but for some reason even if you apply the profile, it still downclocks. I've even tried "completely" uninstalling the catalyst driver suite, reinstalling without CCC and using MSI afterburner, but of course that downclocks things as well, so it still occurs. (even with forced constant voltage)
I assume editing the bios so the clocks and voltage stay the same and flashing it might fix the problem, but I don't think I should have to resort to that.
EDIT: The issue occurs with an Nvidia GTX 670 as well, so maybe it's a p55 chipset issue?
