Update about PS2 woes and Dragon Quest 8 fisticuffs challenge explanation

Like I said I can only use fisticuffs, spells, persona skills and battle items but everything else like using healing items in general is OK.


I can't use weapon skills specifically, swords, knives, whips, bows, boomerangs, lances, hammers/mallets, axes, scythes....THAT is until fisticuffs and persona skills for each character is maxed out which won't be until the end of the game or maybe not until post game.


There is one weapon that is the exception staves since most of the skills are actually spells with the exception of the skill Caduceus since you NEED to equip a staff to use this skill I'm not counting it's use until the fisticuffs and persona skills are maxed out.


By battle item use I mean weapons and certain shields that can be used as items in battle for various effects BUT have unlimited uses.


By personal skills I mean courage, humanity, sex appeal and charisma I can only level these up if the game won't let me level up fisticuffs any more because you need to be at a certain level to use specific skills as well.


I can buy and get weapons for selling, making other equipment or just letting them catch dust until my fisticuffs and persona skills are maxed out.


I can't use weapon skills on ANY boss throughout the whole game this also includes the post game as well.


If there are some things I left out it might be because I don't want to spoil anything yet until I get to that part of the story
