It was news to us too when the upcoming Poco X5 Pro was spotted in the hands of a cricket player a week ago, but a European retailer has already listed the device as "coming soon" and posted an almost complete specs sheet.

According to the retailer, the Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro has a 6.67" AMOLED display with a 1,080 x 2,400px resolution (20:9). Unfortunately, the refresh rate is not stated, but it should be 120Hz like the Poco X4 Pro.

In any case, the Snapdragon 778G, a significant upgrade over the 695 found inside the X4 Pro, powers the phone. Two memory configurations are listed by the retailer: 6/128GB and 8/256GB, both of which have a microSD card slot. With MIUI 14 for Poco, the phone reportedly runs Android 12. Similar to last year's model, the primary camera has a large 108MP 1/1.52" image sensor (0.7 m pixels) with an f/1.9 aperture. However, 4K video recording is now possible (albeit at a lower frame rate thanks to the upgraded chipset). An 8MP ultra wide (118°) and 2MP macro camera are the other back-mounted cameras. Selfie camera with 16MP on the front.

With a sizable 5,000mAh battery and 67W wired-only charging, the power system is the same as before. There is Gorilla Glass 5 on the front for protection, and the phone has an IP68 rating. Since the X4 Pro is only rated for IP53, the IP68 rating may be an error on the spec sheet.

The cost is still unknown. At launch, the X4 Pro cost €300 for a 6/128GB model (a little less with early bird pricing), and €350 for an 8/256GB model. Overall, it doesn't appear that the Poco X5 Pro has changed much, but the Snapdragon 778G will significantly affect performance. You will have three color options to choose from: Blue, Black, and of course Poco Yellow.

The merchant also provides information regarding the Xiaomi Poco X5. This device maintains the Snapdragon 695 (as seen in Geekbench) and features a 6.67" AMOLED display (1,080 x 2,400px) with a 120Hz refresh rate, leading us to believe the Pro has a 120Hz display as well. The IP54 rating on the base X5 makes more sense.

Beginning with the 48MP main camera, which is still accompanied by an 8MP ultra wide (118°) and a 2MP macro (don't expect 4K, though), this basic model is comparable to the Pro, albeit with some downgrades. Downgraded to 13MP is the selfie camera. Battery capacity is unchanged at 5,000mAh, but the charge rate has been reduced to 33W.

The Poco X5 is listed with 6/128GB and 8/256GB configurations (expandable with a microSD), just like its sibling. Pricing information is absent, as well as a Poco X4 to serve as a benchmark. Green, Blue, and Black are the available colors for the X5.

Please take note that the Poco X5 Pro and X4 Pro both appear in the same image. Perhaps Xiaomi left the design unchanged, or perhaps the retailer simply used an earlier photo. The specifications appear to be very similar to the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed.

Regarding the plain X5, the picture resembles the Redmi K50i despite the fact that the two devices have very different specs and different color schemes. The only difference between the specs and the Redmi Note 12 is the chipset.
