5In this video me and Wiggy G try out the M3 release called Urban Extreme.
Watching back the video the game looks a lot better than it actually was. As far as gameplay goes, its an intense racing game but the main issue we had was the controls, which were just way too responsive. You couldnt let your shadow pass over the pad without your car wanting to hit a wall. Though, this did also at times add to the gameplay.
Loading times were quite a let down in the game, we only tested out a few courses in this video, but i could imagine a full playthrough would take an hour just for the loading screens alone. But, for many budget games this is a big issue.
The graphics in Urban Extreme are decent enough, landscapes have some detail, but i feel a lot more could of been done with the cars. You win money each race which can be used to buy new cars, but theres not really much in the ways of customisation that you would expect, which is a let down really.
It wasnt a horrible racing game, it was quite intense, but i wouldnt reccomend it to hardcore racing fans.
