IPv6 is the Sucessor to IPv4 But Still We are Using Ipv4 Address.
IP stand for Internet Protocol, IPv4 Mean Internet Protocol version 4 and IPv6 mean Internet Protocol version 6.
We Use IP Address to Communicate over the network.
32-Bit vs 128- Bit Address
IPv4 address are 32Bit or 4 Bytes and IPv6 address are 128Bit or 16 Byte.
IPv4 was Deployed 34 Years Back in 1981 and IPv6 was Deplyed 16 Years ago in 1999.
By All Mean IPv4 is from Stone age of Internet When World Wide Web Do Not Exist.

Now Main Difference for in IPv4 is base on Decimal and Where the Newest IPv6 is based on Hexadecimal which make it Hard to Read.
In IPv4 We Can Have 4 Billion Internet Address and in IPv6 We Can Have 340 Trillion Address.

I Will IPv6 is Can't Be a Successor to IPv4 Because Last 16 Years it Try to Be but Failed.
Still We are Hearing By 2018 IPv6 Will Become the Standard But I Will Say it is Impossible to Achieve in Only Next 3 Years.
