USA Track star Nick Symmonds will not be competing in the upcoming IAAF Championships and is taking a stand against a rival sponsorship. The USATF (Track and Field) team is sponsored by Nike, for many athletes and runners barred no consequence. Nick Symmonds, on the other hand, is sponsored by Brooks and does not want to be seen wearing Nike sponsored gear, which is a must for runners during the competition. The only exception to the rule is the runners shoes, eyewear and headwear does not have to be Nike branded, although Nike can use photos and videos for their own promotion without the runners seeing a fair amount of money returned in their favor.
