USFL Week 6 predictions

Welcome back to the Kriner Scoop, where we are again covering the usfl. Today we are doing predictions for week 6 of the USFL: Who’s gonna win, who’s gonna lose, and how many points are they going to score. Action kicks off tonight so lets get into it.

As always, I’ll start with a recap of last week. The Bandits, Generals, Stallions, and the Maulers all won. That’s right, Pittsburgh picked up their first win last weekend! Good for them. That means The Panthers, Breakers, Stars, and Gamblers all lost. I for one laid a big fat donut, I am now 6 for 16 overall in my predictions so far this season. Keep in mind I skipped predictions the first week of this season. But yeah, you can call me the Houston Gamblers, because I suck. Let’s get into the games this week.

First game this week is Saturday at 1pm (all times eastern) and it airs on NBC. The 3-2 Tampa Bay Bandits take on the 2-3 Philadelphia Stars. Tampa Bay is a team I have consistently underrated thus far this season. The team seems to really enjoy playing for Todd Haley. The Philadelphia Stars are on a bit of a slide after falling to Birmingham last week. In my opinion, they need to establish a consistent run game to escalate to the playoff tier of teams. I think Tampa Bay is the better team right now. I think Philadelphia needs this game more…Tampa Bay wins by a score of 28-20.

Next game is at 7:30pm on NBC and pits the 1-4 Michigan Panthers vs the 5-0 Birmingham Stallions. I will die on this hill that Birmingham is not as dominant as their 5-0 record indicates. I would argue, the Generals have played the most consistent football in the league all season. Stallions will lose in the regular season…but not to the Panthers. The panthers are 1-4 but have a positive point differential. This will be another close game for both teams. Stallions win 28-21

Action resumes on Sunday at 12noon on FS1! This game pits the 1-4 Pittsburgh Maulers vs the 3-2 New Orleans Breaks. Pittsburgh is coming off an emotional win with new Qb Vad Lee guiding the team to their first win of the season. And the Breakers…uggghhh my New Orleans Breakers lost to the New Jersey Generals and it wasn’t that close by the end of it. I expect Kyle Sloter will roll out of the tunnel before this game in a stretcher and still play this whole game. I also don’t expect this to be a great game plan. Running back Jordan Ellis will have to be leaned on heavily either way. I’m tempted to pick the Maulers, but they need to show me a little more this season than 1 win over the Gamblers. Plus the Breakers responded well after their first loss of the season so I expect Coach Fedora to have the Breakers well prepared for this one. New Orleans wins 24-17.

Final game of the weekend is the 1-4 Houston Gamblers vs the 4-1 New Jersey Generals. Kickoff is at 2 pm on Fox. This is an easy one. Generals are good. The Gamblers are not. Generals win 21-13.

And that does it for my week 6 predictions. Hopefully this helps set the stage for you for another great week of football. So go ahead and make those final preparations. Get your picks in, let me know your wild predictions for the weekend in the comments, maybe I’ll highlight it in the video next week…We will be back next week for more analysis and predictions. As always, Thank you for tuning in to another episode of the Kriner Scoop. See you next time!
