If you have a very old computer or laptop, you can still use an older LTS version that's even lighter than traditional Ubuntu. I'm referring to Lubuntu 18.04 LTS. It has update support until 2028, and can be extended until 2030 with Legacy Support by subscribing to Ubuntu Pro, which is free for home users. Check out this lightweight Ubuntu flavor. Want to try a more up-to-date version? There are 20.04, 22.04, and 24.04, all LTS and still supported.
