Using My Starting Technique Only (Spit Fire, Digimon World Solo Technique Challenge)
4Welcome to Digimon World. In this Challenge I have to complete the game and earn 100 Prosperity Points while only being allowed to use the Technique that I start the game with. There are 2 separate Digimon that you can begin the game with; Agumon or Gabumon. If you begin with Agumon then your starting Technique would be Spit Fire. If you begin with Gabumon then your starting Technique would be Sonic Jab. For a Challenge like this, the Digimon that you start off with would determine which Technique you are restricted to for the entirety of the game. The Technique would either be Spit Fire or Sonic Jab.
I decided that Spit Fire was my preference of Technique, and therefore I started the game with Agumon. This meant that Spit Fire is the only Technique that I'm allowed to use throughout the game; I have to reach 100 Prosperity Points while not being able to use any Technique other than Spit Fire. I'm not allowed to use Finishes, nor is it permitted for me to attack while flattened. The only way that I can inflict damage upon other Digimon is by using Spit Fire. With all of this in mind, I would only be able to attack in battles if my Digimon can use Spit Fire. I therefore do need to be very mindful of Digivolutions when proceeding through the game.
With Agumon as my Digimon, I defeated and recruited the opposing Agumon in the Native Forest. I also recruited Betamon, Centarumon and Coelamon, bringing myself up to 6 Prosperity Points. I ensured that I collected a Mouldy Meat, HappyMushroom and HiSpeed Disk from the Amida Forest before recruiting Centarumon. The Mouldy Meat was reserved as an item to make a suitable Digimon sick in Freezeland so that Fridgimon would rescue us, thus taking the first step towards recruiting him. The HappyMushroom and HiSpeed Disk were to be traded with the Mojyamons in Freezeland. I Digivolved from Agumon to Greymon before going any further with recruitments.
With Greymon as my Digimon, I went from 6 Prosperity Points to 91 Prosperity Points. The only remaining Digimon were Fridgimon, SkullGreymon, Monzaemon and Nanimon. I did see to the first part of recruiting Fridgimon by making Greymon sick in Freezeland with the Mouldy Meat and getting rescued by Fridgimon. However, I couldn't see to the second part of recruiting Fridgimon while having Greymon as my Digimon because it is required for you to have a Digimon who can tolerate the cold. As a Vaccine Type I couldn't enter Grey Lord's Mansion with Greymon, and this meant that SkullGreymon's recruitment was off limits. I also couldn't battle WaruMonzaemon and recruit Monzaemon because I hadn't yet had a Numemon as my Digimon. Not recruiting Monzaemon also meant not recruiting Nanimon; you have to recruit Monzaemon in order for it to be possible to encounter Nanimon at all of his locations.
With no further uses, I let Greymon fade away. I chose the Pink Egg and started afresh with Yuramon as my Digimon. She Digivolved to Tanemon, and I used the Tanemon Bug to upgrade the whole of the Green Gym within that single lifespan. Once the Gym had been upgraded I Digivolved to Palmon, and then Numemon. I saw to the initial part of Grey Lord's Mansion with Numemon. I also went to Freezeland and recruited Fridgimon. This was followed by me taking Numemon to Toy Town and Digivolving to Monzaemon. I spoke to the Robot Digimon so that he unlocked the door which leads towards WaruMonzaemon, making WaruMonzaemon available for later on. I returned to the City and let Monzaemon fade away; I couldn't make anymore progress with him.
I chose the Pink Egg again, and once more Palmon was the Rookie that I Digivolved into. However, I Digivolved from Palmon to Vegiemon instead of Numemon. I used Vegiemon to gain access to Grey Lord's Mansion, and I then used the Misty Egg to make Vegiemon Digivolve to Digitamamon; a Digimon who can use Spit Fire. Digitamamon is a Digimon who can't naturally enter Grey Lord's Mansion, so I was required to do things the way that I did in order to be able to be inside of Grey Lord's Mansion with Digitamamon. I recruited SkullGreymon with Digitamamon. I then saw to WaruMonzaemon, recruiting Monzaemon and Nanimon. This brought me up to 100 Prosperity Points, which therefore concluded the challenge. Despite the fact that I did use Digimon who can't use Spit Fire, I didn't get into any battles while having them as my Digimon. I only got into battles when my Digimon could use Spit Fire, and I didn't use any Finishes or attack while flattened.
