Using Voice to Change Bedroom Colour With Lenovo Smartclock 2
I didn't have very high hopes for this as it came free with my mobile phone. after some months I decided to look into what it can actually do and it turns out that it's quite a handy device, basically doing everything you can do as far as the likes of Amazon echo or or Google nest... minus being able to watch videos through the likes of YouTube or Amazon video prime.
technically you can do those things if you change the software but that's obviously not covered by Lenovo.
in this situation Lenovo smart clock is part of my Google home setup. through the Google home app on my mobile phone I've configured the smart clock to be part of my bedroom equipment, so if I refer to changing something in the " bedroom " then it knows not to touch the lights in the kitchen for example.
here is an amazing tip I only just learnt which is actually genuinely super useful: tell it to start Bluetooth pairing, and then add a new Bluetooth device on your Windows computer. you know have yourself a wireless speaker for your computer!
the best part is that you could make it only play the sound from the likes of YouTube or podcasts through the wireless speaker, meanwhile your main speakers are taking care of perhaps a videogame. for the extra
technical people out there, this is especially useful because it means you can capture your video gameplay footage along with the sound from the game and even though you might be watching a YouTube video it won't capture the YouTube audio in the gameplay video! some of you will know exactly why that is such an amazing thing! all with the effort of saying a couple of words and clicking the mouse button twice ...pretty nice!
