Recently an anti-vaccine activist has successfully crowdfunded $10,000 to try and flood Facebook, targeting specifically parents to spread stories about children 'dying from vaccines'. The truth is, not vaccinating children poses a huge public health risk. And while they can use these rare few examples? Vaccines are exceptionally safe, only showing harm (which can be as simple as an arm injury) in 1 in 1,000,000 cases. Compare that to the lethality of measles (1-2 children in 1,000) and the message is clear: Vaccines are safe and they are necessary.
