Ever since the crossguard saber idea was first introduced, people have been asking us when we were going to do our own version of the concept. Other companies released designs, and I have sketchbooks full of things that I just wasn't happy with until several months ago when Deanna and I were brainstorming over dinner and came up with the Vanquish. It was providence, everything fell into place immediately and we were ecstatic that we could finally get into production our original crossguard design.
Taking cues from past customs like Smite, Magni, and others we mixed those with familiar shapes and silhouettes and compressed it all into the VV size format you all know and love. With a main grip area of 1.25" it feels very similar in the hand to a Havoc or REV-N but with a longer grip and the quillions, it takes it to a whole new level. The center grip has milled areas that will accept the upgrade option of the textured rubber inserts, but also provide a canvas for numerous customization options. The saber is accented by 8 titanium rods standard, that can be upgraded with an array of anodized finishes. 8 Acrylic inserts allow the glow from the side blades to show through the lower quillion fins and a tapered, faceted shroud cradles the switch area.
The Shadow variant, covers the Vanquish in a cloak of black powdercoating, leaving many of the smaller detail areas bare aluminum so as to stand out.
