Humanity has left to explore the stars, and in their place lies an entire planet's worth of trash, A series of robots (known as Orbots) were created to help rid the world of garbage so that when people return, everything will be fresh and sparkling, A clean Earth, a new start.

Sound familar? Well, the hero of this story isn't nearly as pacifistic as Pixar's box-like protagonist, and Vectorman's mission is twofold:

Stop the evil War Head,
Clean up the planet, destroying any rogue Orbots along the way.
