Note: These are my first impressions to playing Sister of the Thorn after it was rebalanced via patch 4.6 that was released back in March 15th. My opinion may change the more I play this class on Legend or above.

My cursor was visible throughout the entirety of this match. I have no idea why that issue happened. I thought quickplay would load me into a lobby before starting the actual mission. Now, for the main description.

It have been quite a while since I last recorded Vermintide 2 footage. That's mainly because I got sick 2 days before New Year's Eve. Then I didn't start feeling better until around Mid-March. However, I was already busy by then so I was not able to record some new Vermintide 2 footage. I have been publishing a series of videos between late December and early March but that's because I recorded them around Spring 2021.

Back March 15th, a new update was released for the game that introduced some balance changes and new QoL features. Some QoL features are based on relatively popular mods that were available on the workshop(like Detailed UI based on a mod called Numeric UI) while some are based on new features Fatshark thinks the game need(like being able to delete deeds from of your inventory).

Now, the balance changes. Two careers were rebalanced when update 4.6 was released. Shade and Sister of the Thorn. In this video, I am only going to talk about the changes pertaining to Sister of the Thorn. I will talk about the changes pertaining to Shade in the next video. You can read the Sister of the Thorn changes here:

Fatshark implemented these balance changes because they were trying to address the most problematic areas with Sister of the Thorn and make it more lore friendly within the Warhammer universe. Unfortunately, Fatshark did not specifically elaborate on the most problematic areas of Sister of the Thorn nor how did they make it more lore-friendly according to these patch notes.

However, I did talk to someone who played a lot of Sister of the Thorn on Legend(or above) and they gave me a clearer insight into why these rebalance changes were implemented. Sister of the Thorn According to them, Sister of the Thorn had multiple damage stacking talents she can use. When Sister of the Thorn used multiple of them, she could potentially deal the most damage out of all the careers in the game. To the point where Sister of the Thorn could solo the hardest obstacles this game can throw at her. Chaos patrols, and potentially a more annoying monster like Chaos Spawn or Minotaur.

2 other people I talked with who also played Sister of the Thorn on Legend or above did confirm that the above is true. I can understand the need for nerfing a potentially insanely overpowered career. Especially if its a DLC one. However, these changes would probably not sit right with everyone since the steam store page for the Sister of the Thorn Career DLC gotten more negative reviews than before patch 4.6.

Overall, I view these Sister of the Thorn rebalance changes as a nerf. The reason Fatshark stated for these changes did not sound clear to me. The people I spoke with did provide more context into the possible motive behind the changes. Which does make sense but it did not sit right with other people that bought the DLC(on Steam) because of the negative reviews left on the Sister of the Thorn DLC page after patch 4.6. I can't really say if these changes are good nor bad personally but they were implemented for a reason.
