In this video I take a look at the recently released for PC Viking Battle of Asgard, which is a port of a 2008 xbox 360 / PS3 game of the same name.
There were a few problems initially with this title, with it not displaying text while in menus and the like for owners of a Nvidia card - but there was a recently released patch that seems to have resolved all of these issues.
Viking battle of Asgard's concept and controls are familiar to anyone who has played action / slash games such as DMC or God of War. It is worth noting however, the games concept art does look fairly nice in many areas - and indeed the port does look fairly pretty.
Controls and general questing however don't feel as tight as I'd have liked, and I found most of the characters to feel forgettable /not that interesting - which is somewhat strange due to the rather decent voice acting.
Combat feels awkward in some instances, which is another shame since Viking Battle of Asgard features rather nice fatalities and some nice ideas with the rune system, Overall it is a fun package, and a reasonably good price but I just feel like that there were some issues (such as the main character not being particularly agile) which holds it back.
