It's based on LibreOffice Calc and including some macros with hotkeys for easier recording stats.
The purpose of this video is to demonstrate how to more detail look into the stats of a match.
Of course the best way to win a game is break and runout and never let your opponent to get to the table, but players are usually too much obssessed with the break shots and complaining the dry break.
Dry break is not always a disadvantage for a game, it depends on what kind of table left after the break shot. The safety/kicking games, push out shots, shot selections and decisions are more important in this game than break & runout, but we don't have much information from vp4 website.
This is definitely not a perfect way to look into the perfermance of players, and some of the stats are very subjectively judged by human not by program, so it's not easy to ask vp4 to do it automatically.
