1Hey y'all! For my first upload, I figured I would upload part one of my playthrough of Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game, as well as an Enter the Gungeon intermission where I attempt to kill all 10 bosses.
I had been waiting for Scott Pilgrim vs The World to become available for such a long time. I loved the movie, its soundtrack, and the game soundtrack by Anamanaguchi for so long. It inspired my current logo and a lot of the key art I use on my pages.
My adoration for the game, though... Well, I get noticeably annoyed at the game so many times during this playthrough. The difficulty just feels unfair multiple times during gameplay. Like, it's not "Nintendo-Hard" or Dark Souls Difficult; there are just so many instances where an enemy slides in from off screen and wombo-combos you for a sizeable chunk of your health, and it does not feel fair nor good. Common enemies home in on you like torpedoes, and there's occasions where you get juggled for way longer than what feels enjoyable. Then there's the random stuns that really seem to affect you more than the enemies; why is that a game mechanic? It doesn't feel like a broken game, per say, but I don't know what they were going for. Jank? Because there's plenty of jank here.
I waited so long for this game. I picked up a physical copy of the complete edition (with the soundtrack) from Limited Run Games, which took 5 months to finally get to me. The wait does not feel worth it. But I do finish the game eventually.
Then there's an Enter the Gungeon 10 boss run, because I promised to do a double feature that Saturday and it felt like I was running low on time. I play a lot of Enter the Gungeon on my channel... maybe too much. I'm close to the platinum achivement. I'm not amazing, but the game is always a fun challenge and never feels bad like other, previously mentioned retro games...
