Wait, you have 3.5k defense? (CV-8 Vulpoknights)
9I finally got motivated to do another niche clear!
Clip Cliff is a pretty interesting boss once you get his mechanics. He is most certainly hard to tank especially on Phase 2 with increased attack speed and more shots from his special attack but heat vents can help reduce that damage. But sadly with the tankiest option in Vulpoknights, it's still not enough to tank so Shamare comes into play.
The beginning is pretty simple thanks to Qanipalaat clearing up the high defense enemies at the beginning. Else it's just setting up for Clip Cliff to come. Phase 1 is pretty simple and the stun would only bring him to the other side of the blocker but he would idle on Durnar's spot anyways. And once he fires his first barrage on Durnar, I can safely get Franka to do the dps. He might have about 2500 defense on phase 1 without heat vent support but Franka can simply avoid it with S2 though it's only a 70% chance. Still it's enough to bring Phase 1 down.
Phase 2 on the other hand becomes incredibly difficult. The time where he is invincible and shooting can't be countered with Shamare doll so Sussurro has to sustain at the beginning. Since he resets heat vents on Phase 2 beginning, it will also take a while to come back so Chiave also has to charge it up quickly. Additionally as soon as he gets vulnerable again, I'll have to burst him down. And as soon as he uses skill, I'll need to have both the heat vent and Shamare doll active so Durnar doesn't get obliterated. Also that one trash mob coming from the bottom right also leaked in multiple attempts so having Durnar AoE get him low with Shamare finishing them off was good too. The other enemies coming from the left can also become a problem as when Durnar dies to the high pressure and Sussurro and Shamare skills being off cooldown, they could easily leak too while the boss would take another round. I had previous setups even where I put everyone on the bottom side instead but Franka would quickly be blocked and with Durnar not surviving, which is why I had to focus on bursting Clip Cliff down. So Quanipalaat can kill two defenders and thanks to his base module effect gets his sp quickly enough back so he can stall the last two enemies while the boss gets finished off right after Durnar died.
This clear took me about 20 attempts and also forced me to max Franka and get Shamare's module just to get a bit more out. It was tough and the heat vent timings were difficult too but thankfully it was possible and I'm not sure if there would be any other strat with Vulpos as there aren't many far range arts damage options to deal with him. So a tanking approach was needed even if it's not as great on Phase 2 including his stun on both phases.
