Waking Mars has seen a simultaneous release on the PC as well as various mobile formats, including IOS and Android.
It tells the story of astronautics who have ventured to Mars with the hope to find out more about the recently discovered life there.
The game features a fairly reasonable port from the device, despite a lack of graphics options.
Controls are simple, and allow you to use a jetpack to fly around the various underground caverns. Waking Mars quickly picks off as you begin to change the ecosystem in the underground caverns, and cause a huge collapse as the alien life begins to spread and damage the surface of the planet.
Waking Mars features good voice acting and a lot of story, despite it almost feeling like the action stops 'too often' occasionally. PUzzles are fairly solid and the game overall makes a good experience.
I've nothing really bad to say for the game, other than the controls feeling a little fiddly at times, but certainly nothing hugely wrong. It's a good solid platform / puzzle game with a good story.
Waking Mars doesn't break any new ground, but I've seen far worse titles, and it's well worth it for fans of the genre. The music is pretty cool too.
