Bit of a brain dump on some concepts I've been working over that have been helping me in longsword.

Not part of the official Order of the Blade syllabus and with a lot of inspiration taken from English Longsword sources.

Hopefully useful.

TLDR Version:
Don't put you sword leg forward

Holding blade contact/blade posture can keep you safe

Shorter cuts with Longsword help maintain this
If your sword leg ends up forward, Pivot steps are good.
