At daytime, you will have to avoid the sun's fireballs on the platforms. Getting hit will trigger cause Wario to catch fire and likely make you fall off.
At night, the moon will be your obstacle instead, shooting stars at you that shock you, causing knockback severe enough to usually make you fall.
In either case, often the best bet is to keep moving, paying attenion to the respective celestial body. If they start dipping down to your height, they're preparing to fire at you.

Note: If you ever find yourself stuck without knowing where to go next, consult the hidden figure at The Temple (press Up or A on The Temple on the overworld); it will tell you which level the next key treasure is in.
