Note: This testing is not necessarily comparable to any previous CPU testing due to substantial methodology changes. We overhaul our methods once per year and normally publish a piece alongside it, but haven't published an updated methodology piece yet for this year. The core concepts are the same as 2020, but the software has changed or been updated. (Also, we used a completely different motherboard than our Intel Gear 1 vs. Gear 2 testing, which produced incomparable results that we'll discuss soon).
This review benchmarks the Intel i7-11700K Rocket Lake-S CPU. Our testing includes some information on the frequency behavior of the 11700K vs. 10700K, it includes testing of the 11700K vs. 5800X (and others) in gaming, and we'll also look at power consumption. Testing further includes benchmarks for Adobe Premiere (for video rendering & editing speed on CPUs), Photoshop, programming & code compile, and more.
Chart at 15 minutes 51 seconds (can't link because it'd break below stamps) should be for GTA V 1440p (not RSS 1440p). Sorry about that. The correct chart is almost 100% identical to the GTA V 1080p chart, for reference, so just pretend it's the 1080p chart and you get the picture.
