The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is one of the cheapest, least powerful full-sized motorcycles on the market today, but that doesn't mean it's a bad bike. In fact, the respectable power and nimble handling combine to make the Ninja 400 an excellent tool for beginner and experienced riders alike to hone their skills. Throw in ABS for a bit of safety and there's a good reason Kawasaki keeps building low-spec bikes year in and year out.

HotCars contributor Michael Van Runkle recently got his M1 certification and Kawasaki felt brave enough to loan him a Ninja 400 as his first bike to review.
