Wave Race 64 Shindou Edition - [ Nintendo 64 ] - Intro & Gameplay
Since we're reaching the months of summer again, it's once again time for some more water & sports inspired games. This is;
Wave Race 64
An out-of-the-blue follow-up to Wave Race originally released on Gameboy, Wave Race 64 was a launch title for the N64 system developed by Nintendo EAD. Originally concieved as F-Zero on water, the concept was eventually changed for Jet Skis since the 90's was all about extreme-sports of different kinds.
As a kid, I played this basically once and I wanted to play more of it but never did until now. And I definetly consider this game far better than it's sequel Wave Race: Blue Storm. If you can't tell already, I love water. I love water, air and space, so this game is right down my alley along with Pilotwings 64.
Wave Race was known at it's time for it's impressive wave physics something which at the time was still difficult to create and it's still impressive today even with such giants like Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Subnautica, even though the water in Subnautica is beautiful, imagine if they'd add some waves and weather effects to it, Mmmh mmmh..
The Shindou Edition differs slightly from it's original launch title counterpart by including rumble pack functionality. It also added a Ghost to time trial in the form of a Dolphin that will act as your ghost to improve your speed against and become better.
