So, Gaymstop where I work at was robbed on Monday at gunpoint. It was around noon, broad daylight, the dudes came in wearing masks and flashing heat. They somehow knew the employees by name--and the locations of everything they wanted in the store and how things work. The last time it was robbed several years ago, Police found out it was an inside job that had been hitting numerous Gaymstops. This seems to suggest a similar fate.

Anyway, they made the two employees grab a new 360 Elite, and PS3, along with a bagfull of new games, topping it off with everything in both registers and the safe. (My guess would be 600-1000 bucks in cash, but I really have no idea whats in the safe and could be much more) After all that, they proceeded to tie up and gag the two employees, leaving them for the next customers to walk in to see them and get help.

*Update: They also stole the phone, and one of them needed help finding good games to steal.

I have no idea (but would assume) people were in the store at the time and were allowed to evacuate....and surely somebody watched a few dudes in masks with bags of loot walking out.

Needless to say, Gaymstop was closed the rest of the day.... Anyway. That's the low down. Hope you enjoyed my story, and may lightning never strike twice. Because I happen to like my pathetic life and my hopes of the future.

A "funny" little tidbit is that the very day before, all stores had a store-wide meeting about Loss Prevention during the holiday season... another tip it might be another inside job.

Ya know, for a town like Ann Arbor where I am, that is so criminally lacking that if a kids bike is stolen it makes the paper...this is some serious stuff. We are however, surrounded by two fairly ghetto cities.

The male employee is fine, shrugged it off. The chick is shaken up pretty bad though, she's been sick a lot lately and recently sued somebody else for assault so it's not been all that happy joy time for her--but no physical harm to either of them.
