In this episode, we unbox a lot of 30 Xbox, Xbox, 360, and Xbox One games we scored for only $30 from Video Games Monthly!

Over the years, I've been pretty vocal on my overall dislike of the Xbox. Whether talking about the original, the 360, or the One, I've never really been a fan of the platform, mostly due to my dislike of the controller design. I've been trying to expand my horizons and build my collection, & I actually have both an original Xbox and an Xbox One S that I would actually like to get some usage out of. Video Games Monthly recently posted to their Facebook page that they had several lots of games they were looking to sell for 30 bucks a pop. It would be a mixture of games for all three systems, and they openly admitted that there would be a number of sports games in each lot. Figuring that I had to get four or five games combined worth $30, I took a dive and decided to give it a shot.

These are the games that we got:
Xbox:
ESPN NBA 2K5
ESPN NHL Hockey
NBA Inside Drive
GUN
NFL Fever 2003
NCAA Football 06
ESPN NHL 2K5
Splinter Cell
Doom 3
NFL 2K3
Madden 2003
ESPN College Hoops
NASCAR 06

Xbox 360:
Fifa 14
Fable 3
Bioshock Infinite
Madden NFL 10
Rock Band
Madden NFL 15
NHL 09
Madden 18
Madden 25
Shadowrun
Skyrim
XBox Live Arcade
Beowulf
Section 8
Timeshift
Hitman Absolution
Red Faction: Guerrilla
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2

Xbox One:
Madden 20 x2
FIFA 15

Initial impressions:
I went into this with very low expectations. I figured that there would be a lot of filler, and a few decent titles here. Out of the 30 games, about five or six or ones that I will actually play, 20 to 25 or so for trade bait. The problem is, the ones that I want to get rid of aren't worth a whole lot. I also did not realize that GameStop was no longer taking Xbox 360 games in on trade, something I should have researched a little bit more ahead of time. I took these to Live Action Games, and Adrian pretty much laughed me out of the building. Okay, I got to try to find value here somewhere.

So out of these, the games I'm going to keep are definitely worth 30 bucks. Now the question is What do I do with these other titles. MoGameCon Jr is coming up in February, and the Bloomington Normal Game Con is coming up in the spring of 2022. I think I'm going to take these and set up a booth at 1, or possibly both of these, just to try to get rid of these lots. I'm not going to price them too exorbitantly high, I may even just try to get rid of them on eBay.

So what do I think? Would I do it again? Probably, this was not a terrible deal but not terrific. As I said, I knew that there would be a lot of filler, and that was most certainly here. But the games I do plan on keeping and playing are definitely worth it. I may look at doing one of their Nintendo lots down the road now that I've experienced this. The one thing I was a little bit shocked at, and I guess I shouldn't have been, was the cost of additional shipping. This was not a lightweight box so it cost a good bit to ship. Keep an eye and make sure you follow the video games monthly Facebook page if you would like to get a game lot such as this.
