Do you have what it takes to escape Castle Rock?

It’s time for explorers to return to the frozen Antarctic in We Were Here Forever, the latest entry in the We We Here series. After multiple highly lauded releases, fans of the series are plunged into another adventure with new and improved visuals. Spanning more than 12 hours, We Were Here Forever offers a thrilling continuation of the story and marks the series’ longest game to date! Players who are new to the series need not worry; this game can of course be enjoyed as a standalone experience as well.

The lost explorers from previous games will once again find themselves separated from each other in the dungeons of Castle Rock, armed with nothing but the trusty walkie-talkies that form the sole connection between themselves and their partners. Together, they must make their way through - and out of - the depths of this evil, magical realm. Because of the new, more freeform design to the puzzles and the environment, this adventure will unfold differently for every pair of explorers.

In We Were Here Forever, players will uncover more of the mysterious tale of Rockbury - the town that, together with its haunted castle, sets the stage for the entire series so far. A long time ago, this town and its inhabitants attempted to revolt against a corrupted King in an effort to free themselves from this magical realm existing seemingly outside of time and space. And as you unravel more of the past, you may start to wonder: Does one ever … truly … escape Castle Rock?

The co-op puzzle adventures of the We Were Here Series are playable in any order, although there is a common narrative thread running through them. The series has been enjoyed by more than 8,500,000 players since the release of We Were Here in 2017, with We Were Here Forever breaking all records within the series!

Players take the role of Antarctic explorers who find themselves caught up in a mystery revolving around the realm of Castle Rock (more backstory is revealed in the live-action video series We Were Here Stories: Chronicles of Castle Rock). Being separated most of the time, players will have to explore several areas, while every puzzle requires teamwork to be solved. Asymmetric puzzles give each partner different information, and challenge players to talk to each other and figure out exactly what information they have and how it might lead to a solution. You and your partner have nothing but your wits, a walkie-talkie, and whatever you can find on your way. Do you have what it takes to escape this mysterious realm or will you be trapped… Forever?

The features of the We Were Here Series include:

Two-player co-op: the puzzles you encounter take two to solve - you both have a role to play! Communicate via walkie-talkies, and act as each other’s eyes and ears
Connect through experience: when you find yourself in sudden danger, will you freeze, or can you keep cool and explain things clearly to your partner- before your time runs out…
On the edge of your seat: be part of a thrilling adventure in the lively world of Castle Rock as you and your partner take on the ancient powers aligned against you
Spine-tingling story: there is much to discover… and much to fear - you’ve met the Jester, but is he even the most powerful being within the walls of Castle Rock?
We Were Here, We Were Here Too, and We Were Here Together are all available on Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. We Were Here Forever released on Steam and Epic Games for PC on May 10th, 2022, and came out on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on January 31st, 2023. The cross-platform feature was added along with the console release, making We Were Here Forever the series’ first game that explorers can play together across all platforms!
