The beginning of a weekly series about the things all over the nerd world.
This week:
Ben Affleck will NOT direct The Batman! Nor did he write the whole script, as was originally planned. He, and Geoff Johns (hard to believe these 2 couldn't write an acceptable Batman script) instead handed it off to Chris Terrio. Whose name you might recognize as being the screen writer fix for BvS! Now this probably does, and SHOULD, leave you with much trepidation. BvS being the horrendous pile that it is and all. BUT don't forget he also helped write Argo, which won some high acclaim. Affleck and Johns both wrote the original draft of the Batman script, Terrio is just the guy who got the studio to sign off on it. How much did he change? Will he ruin another Batman movie? Only time will tell.
Mastodon and System Of A Down BOTH announced new albums. While the fact that Mastodon was working on an album was no news the release date was. SOAD though was a bit of a shock. Who would have known that Serj and the boys would work out whatever it was that made them call it off? It was wonderful news to my eyes reading that little bit of news.
