The first edition of Weekly Pixels is here!

In this week, I started out with a basic dungeon tileset that was created by following along with HeartBeast's Let's Pixel video, which I'll link below. After I finished that, I was compelled to expand upon my work and really make it into a fully fledged, unique tileset.

I made a small list of things that I would like to see be part of the tileset, and worked on some of them each day for about a week. Near the end of the list, I thought it would be a good challenge to animate some of the more obvious sprites. I recorded some of the process of the animation and made a time lapse of that in Hitfilm which is the bulk of this video.

Hitfilm Express is a completely new program for me, so I spent quite some time learning how to operate within it. I'm sure I didn't make the captions very efficiently, so I'm hoping to learn more about the program and be better equipped to streamline that rather laborious process for the future episodes.

Programs used: Aseprite(initial and final composition), Pyxel Edit(mockup, tiling, and animation), Hitfilm Express(video editing).
