The Jacksonville IceMen have announced the signing of the captain of the National Title winning University of New Brunswick, Cameron Critchlow to an ECHL contract.  The versatile forward will join the IceMen for their inaugural season on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena against in-State rivals, the Orlando Solar Bears.

“Cameron has enjoyed a successful Canadian college career for the powerhouse University of New Brunswick,” stated Icemen VP of Hockey Operations and Coach Jason Christie.  “He has not only been a major contributor to the University’s success on the ice, but has been a leader off the ice as well, serving as captain in the Juniors and University.”

The 25-year-old Critchlow led the University to two National Titles (2013 and 2016).  In his four year stint at the University of New Brunswick, Cameron played in 109 games with 26 goals, 36 assists (62 points) and 153 penalty minutes.   Prior to that he played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for four seasons in Acadie-Bathurst Titan, Lewiston MAINEiacs and Halifax Mooseheads.  Cameron will also be remembered in Haliax for his heroics in Game 7 (scored four goals in the game), capping a Mooseheads playoff series victory, after the Mooseheads were down three games to none.

This summer Cameron is polishing his skills, preparing for his first pro season, by starring for the Adelaide Adrenaline down under in Australia.

“Cameron is a complete winger,” added Coach Christie.  “He can play full strength, lead a power play and kill penalties.  He drives to the net and has a great toughness about his game.”
