Welcome to the first episode of my playthrough of Life Is Strange: True Colors, the latest edition of the Life Is Strange franchise! In this new installment, we follow Alex Chen, a young woman moving to Haven Springs to reunite with her brother Gabe after 8 years in the foster care system, in order to try and start a new life in a new town -- all the while having to get a grasp of the "curse" she's been dealing with: the psychic power of empathy, which allows her to see, and feel, the strong emotions of those around her.
In this first episode, "Side A", Alex arrives in Haven Springs and meets up with Gabe, and gets to know several of its residents -- Gabe's girlfriend and local artist Charlotte, her aspiring comic artist son Ethan, local flower shop worker Riley and her jealous and short-tempered boyfriend Mac, eccentric former entrepreneur Duckie, Typhon Mining representative Diane, local hero and tavern owner Jed, park ranger and local bird nerd (and Jed's son) Ryan, and of course, Steph from Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, who now finds herself working at a local record store and acting as the town's DJ.
Of course, not all of her interactions with the residents of Haven Springs are exactly pleasant, and Alex finds herself once again struggling to keep her empathic powers in check. As if that's not enough, it turns out Ethan decided to explore the town's old mining factory -- on a night when Typhon Mining has decided to blast open part of the mountain to create a new pit mine!
Can Alex keep her powers under control? Will she be able to keep Ethan safe? Will Square Enix ever release a Shu-Shu plush??? FIND OUT TODAY!!
