The old system of needing 3 or 5 or more cold/heat protection on armors is a thing of the past. Now you either need food(cold areas) or drink(hot south) or the piece(s) of clothing that can keep you warm or cool enough based on temperature.
Video starts with overview of temperatures, food/drink and buffs duration in Boreal wilds and areas north of Rocky Pass. Then areas in south 2:50. Back to ranch and overview of armors/clothes and the temperatures they provide protection 4:15. Armor workbench 6:45. Then I go to dried forest and show an example of a common tier drink buff 7:15. Then Rocky Pass to show uncommon food buff 7:55.
