What are Hall Effect switches and how do they work?
87In this video I'm explaining what Hall Effect keyboard switches are, how they work and what the benefits of them can be. I'm showing you these with the Glorious GMMK 3 Pro HE (which I've got a separate video on here • This custom Glorious GMMK 3 Pro HE ke... ) and talking about the difference between standard mechanical switches and Hall Effect switches with various examples.
There are several benefits to the way Hall Effect switches work, which is why they are so popular. Firstly, they're able to be tracked throughout the range of switch movement, meaning you can have adjustable actuation points in 0.1mm increments.
Secondly you can have Rapid Trigger settings which allow you to register a keypress again, without lifting the switch all the way up.
They are also easier to install than MX switches and accurate too.
