The 3 "what"s explained:
What #1: I switched to the rocket launcher instead of the chaingun. Explanation: pressed the RL key accidentally after pressing the chaingun key.
What #2: I shot a rocket at that imp's face, and it looked like it didn't die. Explanation: it did die. You can hear the gibbing sounds. There was a 2nd imp close to the 1st one that woke up (pain sound) and appeared on screen making it look like the 1st imp didn't die.
