What If They Added Team Deathmatch to Hell Let Loose?
Hell Let Loose needs more game modes. There I said it. Introducing Team Deathmatch mode, where all those pesky mechanics that force us to build nodes and garrisons like slaves building a pyramid are STRIPPED from the game and each map is compressed into a fraction of their current size, leaving nothing but pure, exhilarating man on man action- cut (censored)

I really do think we need more game modes and I don’t see any harm whatsoever in adding a mode like Team Deathmatch that would support a more casual and traditional fps experience for anyone that feels like playing Hell Let Loose, but maybe isn’t in the mood to mess around with all the usual game mechanics and teamwork involved.
My thinking is that a team deathmatch mode running on a server would basically give people a place to go when they don’t wanna talk or think too much, or for when they need to blow off some steam after just losing the center point 30 seconds before the end of the match. You’d just load in, pick a class and start shooting people in the face for nothing more than a bit of fun.
Not to mention the fact that it could also increase sales by opening up the game to a wider audience that might already be interested in the game but are put off by the thought of having to communicate with other players to get things done. - Shout out to everyone with crippling social anxiety!
Let’s be honest, there’s already ton of players in the game that don’t communicate or work with their squads at all, so adding a more casual, pew pew focussed mode might alleviate some of the issues of regular warfare and offensive servers by giving the more casual players somewhere to go and play in a way more similar to Battlefield or lightning strike call of duty…
But how would a mode like that actually work in a game known for its squad-focussed gameplay?
Well here’s my thunks. For the most part everything in team deathmatch mode would be pretty similar to a regular warfare or offensive match. They’d probably want to remove the ability for engineers and squad leaders to build op’s, garrisons and nodes, since they wouldn’t be needed, and they might want to tone down the amount of howitzers each side gets, or remove them completely, but that should all be pretty straight forward to do.
Obviously all the weapons and vehicles themselves wouldn’t need to be change because, well why would they? A tank is still a tank regardless of the game mode, but maybe they could limit the amount of active tanks bobbing around the map to just 1 or 2 to prevent them being too powerful.
Really the only big thing that would need to change would be the size of the maps. They’d need to make the actual playing area much smaller to create that classic and intense TDM atmosphere where you’re never more than a few seconds away from your next firefight, and since I’m no game developer I really have no idea how much work it would take to do, but to me it seems like it would be pretty easy to just take an existing map and cut out a small area of the map that would be most suitable to a TDM style game mode.
