What if you could PICK your MMO difficulty?
97In today's video, I'm going to be exploring a topic that's been the subject of a lot of debate in the MMO community: Are MMORPGs too easy? Instead of making broad assumptions about whether MMOs have become too easy or they're hard we're going to talk about whether or not Difficulty sliders like World Tiers in Diablo IV would work in an MMO.
I'll be focusing on World of Warcraft and Everquest, two games that have already implemented some form of difficulty slider, and exploring whether or not expanding those sliders could fix some of the issues that modern MMOs face.
As an avid MMO player, I've noticed that there's a lot of disagreement in the community about whether or not games are too hard or too easy. But what if we could all just choose our own difficulty levels? It's an interesting concept that could potentially bring in more players and make MMOs more accessible to a wider audience.
We'll be taking a closer look at the different ways that Everquest and World of Warcraft have approached difficulty levels, and what some of the pros and cons are of each system. I'll also be discussing some of the issues that MMOs face in general when it comes to difficulty levels and the lack of challenge in some games.
Personally, I find many MMOs to be frustratingly easy, at least as you level up, and I'm excited to explore whether or not adding more difficulty choices could fix that issue. So, join me in this discussion and let's see if we can find a way to make MMOs more enjoyable for everyone!
