in today's video, I want to talk about the recent buzz around the upcoming game Starfield. As you may know, there have been several articles popping up about whether or not we should be worried about Starfield after the Redfall disaster. And honestly, I'm a little worried about the title of some of these articles more than Starfield itself at this point.

For those who may not be familiar, Starfield is the highly anticipated game from Bethesda Game Studios, which is set to launch on September 6th, 2023. It's the first new IP from Bethesda in 25 years, and it's being called "Skyrim in space". Needless to say, expectations are high, but there are also concerns, especially after the launch of Redfall.

Now, it's important to note that Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks are different entities, both owned by Zenimax Media, which is now under Xbox Game Studios after being acquired by Microsoft earlier this year. Despite the different developer teams, the connection between Redfall and Starfield is obvious, which is why Redfall's failure is being brought up in discussions about Starfield.

There's also the fact that this is a down year for Xbox, with few exclusives and the recent acknowledgement from Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, that they're firmly in third place behind Sony and Nintendo in the console wars. All of this adds to the anxiety around a release that has been in the making for decades.

So, should we be worried about Starfield? Probably. As someone who's been following the game's development, I've always been more concerned about the promises made and whether or not they'll be kept. Content has been and will continue to be my main worry until I see the game launch. Bugs are always a concern, but they're not the biggest issue in my opinion.

At the end of the day, Starfield almost has to be a success. It's the Cyberpunk 2077 for Bethesda Game Studios, and let's just hope it launches in a better state. But even if it doesn't, there are still plenty of other great RPGs coming out in 2023, which I'll link to in the description below.

But does Redfall's failure contribute to my worries? No, not at all.

Thanks for watching, and I hope you have a great day!
