
What is Global Illumination, Baking and Light baking. Unity 2020.3.9.f1. Altspace world building.
So today's Thursday 15th July 2021. And this this episode I'm going to break down in my way and try and explain what's Global Illumination and how it can make your projects look really good. But first of what's baking in PC or Mac or in Unity3d terminology. Well baking is having to bake a certain light in a different way rather than using real lightning you'll have baking light which can make the environment look natural, you can't bake a decent cake without breaking a few eggs, same way with lightning you can't have a really good light in a area unless you work and make it look really good, taken your time to make it look nice is always a good idea. What's Global illumination, it's a model system in which the light hitting a area casts shadows and illuminates an area, if you've a solid object and you want to cast a shadow in a particular are you would first get a light source put it near an object and then bake the light to fit the shadows in and casts the global illumination on the object to maybe the floor to create that shadow effect.
