Set in 1944, the game follows Fran, a 10-year-old girl who witnesses the brutal murder of her parents. After being found alone in the woods, she is admitted to Oswald Asylum, where she is separated from her only friend, Mr. Midnight, her black cat. Fran is administered medication that induces vivid hallucinations, revealing a phantasmagoric parallel universe filled with grotesque imagery, shadow beings, and the malevolent entity Remor, who is believed to have killed her parents. Determined to escape and uncover the truth, Fran embarks on a harrowing journey through various surreal realms, confronting both external horrors and her inner demons.
