Hytale may look like a Minecraft knock off under a new name
But Let’s peel back that pixelated exterior and discover what this upcoming Sandbox RPG is all about shall we?
Hytale has been in development since 2015, and was originally slated for a 2019 release, before being delayed to 2021
Why was it delayed?
The developers at Hypixel Studios explained they were completely re-imagining the game mechanics and features, from the pre-existing combat system being revamped, to putting more emphasis on the depth, and accessibility of PvP.
When is the game set to release now?
While we don’t have a specific date, the game is set to release at some point later this year
Who is Hypixel Studios?
The studio has been making waves in the gaming community for quite a while at this point.
Originally part of Hypixel Inc, the developers of the Hypixel Minecraft Server, Hypixel Studios draws its experience from a long history of Minecraft minigame creations and modding
Hytale marks Hypixel Studios first official title since it split from Hypixel Inc.
And while the studio has been developing Hytale since 2015, it was acquired by Riot Games in April of 2020 in a move to help leverage Riot’s development experience
But What do we know about Hytale?
Hytale combines the scope of a sandbox alongside the depth of on RPG, while immersing players in a procedurally generated world of epic proportions.
Players can explore an extensive game world full of handcrafted adventures
Explore multiple zones, each featuring their own unique wildlife and powerful gear
And similar to Minecraft Dungeons, Hytale’s adventure mode allows players to take on the games story in either solo or co-op mode
Hytale doesn't stop there, the game will also allow players to fully customize their characters, and lay down roots anywhere in Hytale’s multiple biomes where gamers can build anything from a boat to a castle to call home

“Hytale includes a comprehensive collection of tools that grant players more creative power than ever, from model creation and animation to filmmaking, in-game scripting, and - of course - building with blocks.”

The game includes a wide array of cinematic tools for machinima makers to help load scenes, build custom animations, control keyframes, and more
What else?
Players can write their own in-game scripts to transform the world around them
And the game features an immersive editing tool allowing players to edit anything they see in-game
Finally, Hytale will also ship with the ‘Hytale Model Maker’
