A topic ive talked about before but I thought about doing it over guilty gear where i coudl show lots of examples but you know while making this its just to hard since I cant see the screen when I have my web cam on top of some boxes in front of the screen so im looking at the screen on the side while barely able to see anything...

so umm failed experiment but i guess ill upload anyway...

Point is basically I dunno what the communitys obsession with calling everything optimal and max when it isnt. Especially in a game like dbfz where there isnt even the variables to do so and its often not even close what they are saying is max or optimal.

So for ky we have f+hs is almost always optimal or max. Saying it isnt because its "hard" is just a lie, its still the english word. So then the next step would be though, how far do we take it? Because do we want to do the most burst safe version? The farthest corner carry? What set up are we going for? If the guy only has a pixel of life left maybe we will go for just the OTG jab Xn... are we gonna go for a double big blue set up? A cross under FD set up? Again so many set ups, and with the damage difference all very very slight, generally in teh single digets unless the dudes gaurd meter is extremely high...

But a game like dbfz, or so many others its just meter, and damage. And dbfz does it knock down besides that. Its done. The game is just to simple it does not have that many variables for your coping mechanisms. And even worse unlike a game like GG where these damages are so slight, dbfz the damage difference is HUGE in terms of what some of these are.. Again not saying its not harder, just using the english words for what they mean.
