What Makes a Popufur
Popufurs come, popufurs go, and they become the center of attention for some, and the source of animosity for others. But, how do they come to be and are they the collective face that represents the fandom? I picked up on some qualities and attributes people generally find appealing, but, it's a lot more complicated than just a couple of attributes. Good lucks, talent, and a good fursuit don't make the popufur. It also seems to take luck, right place / right time, and a number of other components that go into it, let alone time in the fandom and a sense of presence. And popufurs definitely fade away with time as irrelevancy takes hold...
Eye tracking was way off this video towards the later half of the video, and I found that FaceRig will start to malfunction the longer that you use it in one sitting. So going forwards, I might just cut my sessions in short bursts and string them together with consideration on consistent cut off points so that the transitions are a little more seamless.
I have some popufurs in mind that I didn't mention that I considered to be good friends, but, we kinda drifted away, on top of some drama getting in the way of things. But hey, it definitely plays into the whole social phenomena of popularity seeing to ones rise to celebrity status. You might not think popufurs are important, but I see them as a mostly positive influence on the furry fandom at large, something that needs to continue. We need people that we can believe in!
