What exactly do people mean by "Cinematic Look?" I know the basics but in the end... it's all about how you wish to present your ideas to the world. Industry standard for the big screen is 24fps, well guess what? My camera doesn't shoot 24fps so this was done in 30fps. The look would have been better had I had it as an option but in the end it's not that much of a noticeable difference. I'm new to the whole color science thing but playing around with color grading has been a lot of fun. This is a look that I saved as a preset and tweaked the color levels for each individual clip. Cinematic bars for some reason do make a big difference but I've noticed a lot of newer movies coming out in 4:3 and as long as you follow the rule of thirds and watch your composition it should look good either way. Slow motion video is cool and adds a neat effect but it's not necessary. All of the above mentioned is great but the most important is picking the right shots to tell the story. Which in the end, this video doesn't have much of a story.... or does it? You're reading it I guess.

SO, just what the FUCK is CINEMATIC?

To me CINEMATIC is more of a feeling you get when you see a great video. Cinematic is about using images mixed with sound or lack of to tell a story. Cinematic is creating and sharing your idea with the world in the best way you know how. So yeah, that's what the FUCK it means to shoot Cinematic.
