π¦ Yup - that is Nightshade, the raccoon who lives in the lightning-struck tree outside of our window, having their fur pulled out by a ~very bold~ titmouse!! πͺΆπͺΆπͺΆ
πͺΊ Titmice - such as this tufted titmouse who I'm pretty sure is a regular peanut-eater at our birdseed cafΓ© - are one of many species who practice "kleptotrichy" - which is a fancy science word for species that pluck away fur from other animals (often ones that would eat them - like cats or foxes!) and then book it with their bounty so they can line their nests with their bounty!! π¦
π¦ ... or at least, that is the scientific theory, but considering how this titmouse didn't take a ~single piece of fur~ I've got my suspicions that they are just rapscallions after all... π΅οΈββοΈ
