Yeah ... I've heard some people refer to what I'm seeing as "the bloat." I think that's a pretty good term for it, though I prefer "thinness" because it gets at the stretching out and expanding of the original narrative. In my mind I see taffy being stretched out by those weird mechanical arms, which will ultimately result in a tasty boardwalk treat, but I also notice where the stretching out has caused some sections to start to tear. The whole second reactor experience, man. I'd argue we didn't need half of it.
And if Square-Enix feels, in their infinite wisdom, all of that needed to be there, then they shoulda made the VERY LENGTHY experience more enjoyable throughout.
