When \( \mathrm{CS}_{2} \) layer containing both \( \mathrm{Br}_{2} \) and \( \mathrm{I}_{2}(2: 1) \) is shaken with excess of chlorine \( \left(\mathrm{Cl}_{2}\right) \) water, the violet colour due to
\( \mathrm{P} \) \( \mathrm{I}_{2} \) disappears and a pale yellow colour appears in the
W solution. The disappearance of violet colour and appearance of pale yellow colour is due to the formation of:
(a) \( \mathrm{I}_{3}{ }^{-} \)and \( \mathrm{Br}_{2} \) respectively.
(b) \( \mathrm{HIO}_{3} \) and \( \mathrm{BrCl} \) respectively.
(c) \( \mathrm{ICl} \) and \( \mathrm{BrCl} \) respectively.
(d) \( \mathrm{I}^{-} \)and \( \mathrm{Br}^{-} \)respectively.
